Position: Hotel Front Desk Agent
Reporting Relationship: General Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: The Hotel Front Desk Agent works to efficiently and accurately manage the Front Desk of the View Lodging and Event Venue in a professional and ultra-friendly manner. Great Customer Service with an outgoing personality is the person we are looking to join our team!
Compensation: $16.00 per hour
Shifts: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and 11:00 pm to 7:00 am
full-time.
Must be able to pass a background check
Qualifications
- Customer service experience in a hotel setting
- Proficiency in operating multi-line phone systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Previous experience working at the front desk of a hotel
- Knowledge of hospitality industry practices and guest services
- Ability to handle guest relations effectively
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Have strong working knowledge of Little Hotelier Software System or other hotel software.
Have strong working knowledge and ability to efficiently operate the Phone System.
Ensure that Wi-Fi network is operating correctly.
Have a strong knowledge of all rental rates and services offered by The View.
Greet and register all guests, provide room assignments, maintain guest privacy, and accommodate special requests, when possible.
Promote and sell services/amenities of the property, including The Event Venue Rentals
Promote repeat business by offering to take future reservations.
Be aware of potential sales leads and contacts through guest interaction and report information to the appropriate staff associate.
Keep housekeeping and other departments informed of any special requests, late check-outs, and special needs areas.
Check all credit cards for validity before the end of the shift.
Ensure all cash, check and miscellaneous departments are in balance at shifts end.
Assist in other areas: F & B, cleanliness of property wherever assistance is needed for guest satisfaction.
Help maintain a clean and professional lobby: dusting vacuuming, cleaning tables, etc.
Have a thorough working knowledge of emergency procedures.
Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the Manager.
Be flexible in regard to work schedule, understanding hospitality is a 24/7 industry and evenings/weekends may be required.
Utilize necessary communication logs from shift to shift.
Maintain stock/cleanliness in the coffee area (ensuring coffee is fresh & hot).
Have strong knowledge of reservation systems and procedures, including how to process same day reservations in approximately 2 minutes.
Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks, and credit card information from guests for payment of rental charges and making change correctly.
Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of The View.
Have knowledge of property facilities, staff, services, and hours of operations and ability to give clear directions to facilities for inquiring guests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Strong work ethic
- Experience as Hotel or Lodging Venue Front Desk Agent
- Proven Experience with strong customer service skills
- Regular attendance according to established guidelines
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, sit, and walk for varying lengths of time, often for long periods of time
- Lift approximately Fifty (50) pounds of guest luggage or supplies on and off a cart, using safe lifting techniques.
- Push and pull carts weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with guests and associates, including the ability to give directions, instructions, answer questions, and provide required services.
- Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, and hearing ability and visual ability.
