Summary:
Physical Therapists at Shining Star provide thorough assessments, treatments, and education to patients in their homes in accordance with agency policies and medical orders. By working collaboratively with clinical and administrative colleagues and engaging in the agency's ample professional development opportunities, physical therapists at Shining Star are expected and empowered to provide world-class care. Both per-diem and full-time positions are currently available, and new graduates are encouraged to apply!
Qualifications:
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensed and currently registered to practice physical therapy in New York.
- Russian-speaking preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess patients' physical condition(s) and develop appropriate short- and long-term rehabilitation plans.
- Provide hands-on therapy to patients using various techniques and modalities.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and function.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Skills:
- Patient care: Provide comprehensive and compassionate physical therapy services to clients in their home. Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Complete and return reports in a timely manner. Develop and maintain relationships with clients and their caregivers and provide regular opportunities for feedback. Ability to move, lift, and transfer patients.
- Interpersonal competencies: Maintain a respectful and communicative relationship with other employees and administration. Ability to assist other employees as needed.
