DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Adjunctive Therapist (Recreation, Music, Art, Dance,) is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, treatment planning, group and individual therapy treatments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plans and implements the program’s activity therapy program, including planning of daily events, special events.
· Familiar with art, music, physical activity and creative expression for group.
· Conducts activity therapy group sessions and individual sessions as needed, displaying good theoretical knowledge of group principles and good group techniques.
· Completes activity therapy evaluations and progress notes in a prescribed timeframe and high-quality fashion.
· Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
· Participates in multidisciplinary treatment staffing meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Licensing:
· Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, , dance therapy).
· Board Certification required from field of study (Recreation, Music, Art , Dance)
· CPR certification within thirty (30) days and maintain current.
Knowledge and Experience:
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute psychiatric setting, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:
· Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
· Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population.
· Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
· Vision: see details of objects at close range.
· Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.
· Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.
Lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Pay: $27.82 - $33.20 per hour
