The ultimate private escape, Lake Kora is an historic lakefront property set on one thousand secluded acres of woods and waters deep in the pine forests of the Adirondacks. One of the original "Great Camps" built over a century ago, Lake Kora offers guests a rustic, authentic luxury hospitality experience, led by a team of experienced Five Star-trained professionals who anticipate their every need.
For July 10th through July 22nd, 2024 we are looking for one Dining Room Server to join us in Raquette Lake, NY for the breakfast service and one Dining Room Server to join us for the dinner service. At Lake Kora, foodservice can be quite an adventure: although we do serve most meals in our dining hall (both casual and formal), daily responsibilities might have you boarding a boat to deliver lunch to our private island cabin, serving a picnic trailside on our miles of wooded hiking paths, or handing out cocktails on the boat dock as the sun sets! While there are only 13 guestrooms on property, our culinary standards are rigorous and require a high level of detail. Menus change daily, and ingredients are highly seasonal and often exotic. If great food, excellent drinks, skilled professional teammates, and a stunning atmosphere excites you, then please read on!
Responsibilities include:
- General knowledge and execution of sanitation practices throughout dining spaces.
- Use and upkeep of simple kitchen equipment: blenders, coffee machines, juicers, dish washers, etc.
- Preparation for meal services: polishing silverware and glassware, setting of tables, setup of buffet breakfasts, etc.
- Ability to monitor supplies and alert dining room manager when stocks run low.
- Responding to guest requests as they are received.
- The serving of breakfast and dinner across property (80% of meals are served in our main lodge dining hall, but other locations such as room services and outdoor dining are not uncommon).
- Adherence to Lake Kora standards with regards to hygiene and a positive, engaged work mentality
Skills & Requirements:
- Open communication
- Ability to multitask
- Flexibility (guests can be quite spontaneous!)
- Strong organizational skills
- Eye for detail
- Consistency
- Ability to stand/work for extended periods
- Reliable transportation (Our property is somewhat remote, but some on-property housing is available).
- Hotel/resort experience preferred
We are a friendly, supportive group of coworkers who care deeply about the work we do, the guests we serve, and the beautiful historic place we live and work. We look forward to your application!
Housing is available.
