Job Description:
Acera seeks to hire a specialist teacher who can work as part of our school community, during our weekly after school Enrichment class from 3:30-5:30pm on one or more weekdays.
Model UN Role Specifics:
- Facilitate weekly Model United Nations (MUN) club meetings for a group of middle school students, as well as assigning and giving feedback on students’ research papers about various internationally significant topics.
- Take students to occasional Model UN conferences in the Boston area.
- Develop students’ awareness of current international affairs, as well as students’ critical thinking and communication skills, both in writing and orally. You will be patient and flexible to adapt approaches to fit with kids’ learning styles and interests, while also creating and maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment.
The right candidate will be patient and flexible to adapt approaches to fit with kids’ learning styles and interests, while also prioritizing safety and students’ stewardship habits and self management in workspaces, which may include classrooms and/or our windowed and sunny large Innovation Lab. Timeframe: Once-weekly after school Enrichment classes are structured on a Trimester system.
This role has the option to add on teaching in our February & April vacation camps and Summer Camp 2025.

Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience is highly desired, but for the right person, teacher mentoring may be made available in lieu of substantial prior teaching experience.
