Job Description:
As a Front of House Team Member at Riverwards Produce, you will be the face of our market, ensuring that every customer has a positive and memorable experience. You will engage with customers, provide product knowledge, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, and assist with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs. Provide information on products, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
- Cashier Duties: Operate the cash register efficiently, process transactions accurately, and handle payments (cash, credit, and debit). Ensure a smooth and friendly checkout process.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the products we offer, including their origins, benefits, and uses. Share this knowledge with customers to enhance their shopping experience.
- Stocking and Merchandising: Restock shelves and displays, ensuring that products are presented neatly and attractively. Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the front of house clean, organized, and inviting. This includes tidying shelves, sweeping floors, and maintaining a clutter-free environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the store runs smoothly. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to address any issues or customer needs.
- Event Support: Assist with in-store events, promotions, and special activities as needed. Help create a lively and engaging atmosphere for our customers.
Qualifications:
- Excellent Customer Service Skills: Friendly, approachable, and able to engage with a diverse range of customers.
- Strong Communication Skills: Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment and accurately handle transactions.
- Product Knowledge: Willingness to learn about our products and share this knowledge with customers.
- Team Player: Ability to work well with others and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items, and perform physical tasks associated with stocking and maintaining the store.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of and interest in local, sustainable, and artisanal products is highly desirable.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
