POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Assembler meticulously assembles components and products to meet quality standards and production schedules. A successful Manufacturing Assembler will have strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills, manual dexterity, and ability to work efficiently as part of a team to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects.
This position in particular will support the operation and maintenance of painting equipment, paint products, paint booths, and associated equipment in support of product goals and established deadlines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the assembly of parts to produce products, including the gathering and arrangement of all necessary materials
- Use hand tools or machines to assemble components.
- Study assembly instructions, gather and prepare tools to assemble parts.
- Assemble components following assembly drawings.
- Properly fill out Travelers as work is completed
- Resolve assembly problems and notify Manufacturing Team Lead as issues occur
- Assist with maintaining inventory level and keep equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Assist with drafting and maintaining production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress.
- Ensure quality control and safety standards are observed.
- Perform in compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Actively contribute to the care and maintenance of the Hangar, including individual work stations and tools
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to sit, stand, crawl, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 actual and recent aircraft structural maintenance / repair experience
- Ability to learn the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to use special tools and equipment for assigned production and maintenance tasks
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- A thorough understanding of all pertinent paint shop processes, paint systems, and quality standards
- Experience in auto or aircraft paintingAbility to use paint sanders, spray guns, and primer guns·
- Experience working with rotary wing aircraft
- Experience customizing and fabricating within the production and maintenance sector
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once, with sound decision making skills to prioritize and organize self effectively
- Demonstrated proactive, driven, self-starter mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
- License to operate forklift and other pertinent Aviation Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) preferred
SECURITY CLEARANCE
Subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A SECRET, TS, or TS/SCI clearance may be required.
