Job Description
We need a dependable person who is capable of working solo, tending to our rescued farm animals: cows; pigs; chickens; and turkeys in Litchfield, Connecticut.
Please apply only if you have the following:
- Must have at least 3 years large & small farm animal experience.
- Must be Covid vaccinated and boosted.
- Must have a reliable 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle.
- Must live within thirty minutes of the sanctuary.
- Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Specifications:
- Part time: 16-18 hours
- Starting wage at $18.50 an hour.
- Must be able to work the following four shifts weekly:
- 3:30-8:00pm Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays
- 7:00-11:30am Saturdays
- Work schedules can vary with additional hours.
Responsibilities:
- Feeding, watering and caring for the animals.
- Mucking stalls, raking and cleaning in and around barns.
- Able to perform strenuous physical labor and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Able to follow detailed instructions and maintain animal care schedules.
- Able to communicate effectively regarding animal welfare in daily reports.
- Additional duties may include maintenance, repair and handyman skills.

- Self motivated, self starter, self initiative, team player.
- Must have excellent animal behavior observation skills.
