E.J. Prescott is currently seeking a Water Meter/AMI Sales Representative in the Illinois territory. This person will be the go-to person to sell the full line of Everett J. Prescott, Inc.'s (EJP) product lines.
This is an autonomous position with tremendous flexibility to drive long-term sales cycles, building and maintaining relationships with potentially very large customers, and position EJP at the forefront of municipal modernization of their waterworks infrastructure.
Provide in-depth and highly technical support, sales, and guidance for Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems involving all facets of smart utility solutions. The position will work directly with cities, municipalities, and engineers to develop comprehensive solutions utilizing AMI systems integrated with GIS and various water loss and monitoring technologies. The specialist will work closely with all of TEAM EJP (E.J. Prescott) sales teammates and be responsible for growing solutions sales and strengthening existing customer base with technical support and continued opportunity development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with outside sales teammates and independently to promote, develop and grow sales including metering, communication, GIS, and water monitoring technologies.
· Provide technical leadership (hardware, software, communication paths) in meeting the technology needs of cities and utility customers.
· Work with engineering firms to develop technical specifications and RFP documentation
· Work with Smart Utility Team to develop and implement new solutions focused on helping utilities increase their profitability and system management.
· Continuously develop new skills, experience, and knowledge to promote entire EJP solutions portfolio
· Attend and participate in local and regional trade shows promoting Smart Utility solutions
· Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with Smart Utility Solutions team
· Promote and strengthen vendor relationships
· Travel assigned territory with overnight requirements
· Personify and promote TEAM EJP culture and core values
POSITION COMPETENCIES / JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Advanced metering infrastructure with experience in utility metering process
· Strong preference for experience with Kamstrup products
· Proficient in Microsoft suite of products
· Experience developing technical proposals relating to advanced metering solutions
· Conduct project communications with strong written, oral and presentation skills.
· Must demonstrate the ability to facilitate meetings and presentations involving technical and multi-departmental audiences.
· Must possess excellent interpersonal skills in working with others inside and outside the company
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience developing advanced metering solutions. Experience working with water, electric, and gas utilities.
