Job Description – Senior Analyst, Finance
Summary The Senior Associate, FP&A candidate will assist the FP&A in the development of the FP&A function for Archaea Energy. The candidate will help design and execute a bottoms-up budget, run a budget development cycle for commercial and plant operations, maintain a re-forecasting process, and support, in close conjunction with IT/Data science, key operational and management reports.
The candidate must have experience in accounting and big data with one or more capital expenditure heavy businesses and have a track record of understanding accounting and budget tracking through controls and reporting. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with a strategic mindset who has a bias for action.
This role will support the finance organization, and work closely with operations, strategic sourcing, shared services, project management, and our joint venture partners. This role will work closely with accounting to support reporting requirements related to capital market partners and joint venture partners. The role will also support a monthly and quarterly reporting cycle both for internal management meetings and board meetings.
Job Duties and Responsibilities **
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate project feasibility, commercial initiatives, strategic plans, and deal processes.
- Data-Driven Analysis: Analyze P&L trends, identify areas for revenue growth and margin improvements, and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making.
- Reporting and Analysis: Collaborate with accounting for joint venture partner reporting. Prepare detailed variance analysis to support monthly and quarterly financial closes.
- Dashboard Development: Partner with technical teams to create executive-level dashboards and intra-month projections.
- Strategic Planning: Support the budgeting process and participate in long-term strategic planning initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key business metrics against forecasts and strategic goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively with operations, accounting, development, and joint venture partners to support financial objectives.

Skills, Experience Required **
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in FP&A or similar role, preferably within capital-intensive industries. Strong financial modeling skills are essential. Understanding accounting concepts is important, and Big 4 experience is a plus.
