The Mig Welder is responsible for setting up fixtures for production to produce high-quality products in a safe and efficient manner. If you are a conscientious, hard-working individual who has mechanical skills and is able to MIG weld, please consider becoming a part of our team!
The Mig Welder will:
1) Obtain job assignments and specific instructions from the supervisor.
2) Set up welding fixtures to produce consistent quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
3) Place parts to be welded around fixtures to promote efficiency.
4) Verify that all required parts gathered up match the prints or part number to be welded.
5) A 1st quality inspection must be performed and recorded for each job, even if only the job number changes. Newer Welders are required to have their first piece set-ups verified by either Quality or their supervisor.
6) On long production runs, do quality checks at the start of the shift and before scheduled break.
7) Place welding screens around the area to protect other workers/people in the area.
8) Visually inspect each part of defects, fill any pin holes, and remove excessive splatter or welding wire pieces.
9) Tag completed parts with all information available including: Order Number, Part Number, Color, Quantity on lift, initials, and shift. Verify that the count is the same as what is on the tag.
10) Place or stack the finished lift in a safe and orderly manner.
11) Fully fill out production reports.
Note: Mig Welders MUST have steel-toed shoes AND a welding helmet. All other safety equipment will be provided.
