Pioneer building services is seeking an energetic and creative Assistant Area Manager. The Assistant Area manager is a dependable, adaptable, resourceful support to the Area Manager. We are looking for a strong leader who is self-started, passionate about working with a strong Operations team, and more importantly, passionate about the cleaning industry.
Essential Duties
The core function of the Assistant Area Manager position is to support the Area Manager with janitorial functions, as well as to coordinate the activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premise. The duties of this position are to ensure the successful and timely completion of cleaning buildings, and to maintain an attractive, sanitary and safe environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cleanliness with a focus on detail.
The essential duties are as follows:
- Assign tasks to employees based on job requirements or special assignments
- Inspect assigned job sites for conformance to company and client standards
- Order and issue supplies and equipment as needed
- Train new workers and oversee on-going training of existing employees
- Assist custodial staff for special projects and/or perform any open job for which coverage is necessary due to departmental absences
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Possess customer service skills and interact with the client
- Clean using appropriate methods, equipment and chemicals
- Operate cleaning machinery as needed; including machinery for carpet cleaning, stripping and waxing of floors
- Lead and manage Special Projects—may need to work nights and weekends as needed
- Attendance and Punctuality are essential functions of the position as it requires face-to-face interactions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard janitorial duties, cleaning techniques, products and equipment
- Must be able to read and communicate both written and verbally in English/Spanish
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work individually or as a team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Have 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- Have a clean driving record and have a current and valid Driver’s license
- Must be flexible and willing to work days, nights and weekends as required by the special project or as the job requires
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50-pounds
