Duties:
- Work Safe. Safety is part of everything we do.
- Identify, report, and correct issues and hazards in the workplace before executing/starting a job.
- Prepare material for fitting and welding as necessary to ensure correct dimensions and quality.
- Choose and operate the proper equipment to fabricate parts efficiently as required by design and fabrication instructions.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain (preventive maintenance) press brakes, shears, welding machines, rolling machines, and any other equipment required to complete jobs.
- Conduct quality checks and monitor the dimensional accuracy of parts produced to ensure they meet tolerances to avoid errors prior to welding or following other fabrication steps.
- Correct any defects to ensure delivery of quality work to customers.
- Work nights, weekends, and overtime as the company requires to ensure customers are taken care of. Metal Tech provides services 24/7.
- Work alone as well as in a team environment to complete jobs promptly to meet deadlines requested by customers.
- Communicate openly to contribute to a safe, positive, and efficient work environment.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts when necessary.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain your work area clean and organized.
- Report any maintenance issues with equipment to the Supervisor.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Ensure that all assigned tasks are carried out safely with a firm commitment to meeting and ideally exceeding industry standards.
Experience:
- A high school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidates with three to six months of related experience and/or training will be considered favorably.
- Previous experience in fabricating and welding metal structures
- Proficient in ductwork fabrication and installation
- Knowledge of machining processes for metal fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings-
- Experience operating press brake machines for metal bending
- Skilled in stick welding techniques
- Familiarity with rigging and crane operations
- Strong mechanical knowledge
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to meet physical demands essential to job performance. While performing duties, the employee must regularly stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and adjust to varying physical activities. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
