Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Job Type: Full-Time, M-F (5a-3:30pm)
Salary: $24-25/hour – Based on experience
Summary:
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a press brake to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and other materials according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Job Description:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal components.
- - Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications
- Adjust machine settings, including backstop, ram stroke, and material thickness, to ensure precise bends.
- Select appropriate tools and dies based on job specifications and material type.
- Inspect parts during and after production to ensure they meet specifications.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of production, including material usage, job progress, and completed work.
- Work closely with other machine operators, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure efficient production flow.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication and press brake operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
- Proficiency with measuring tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Experience with CNC machinery is a plus
- Certifications:
- Press brake operator certification is a plus.
Work Environment:
- The work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- The role requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
