POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Systems Analyst possesses in-depth knowledge of software, workflows and technological capabilities that pertain to Howard Brown’s clinical information systems. Their primary role is to design, build, and test applications that are used in the delivery of patient care across clinical domains in the agency. This individual must be knowledgeable about departmental policies, procedures, business operations, best practice workflows and specific federal requirements. On an as needed basis, they perform in-depth analysis of current state workflows, coordinate the collection of data and/or report details, and evaluate other technical capabilities associated with the use of various clinical software. The individual will be responsible for assisting in the development and documentation of internal procedures used in conjunction with vendor applications. On an ongoing basis, the Clinical Systems Analyst will review, test, and communicate software releases and updates to help determine which features would best fit HBH’s needs. This role works closely with the other Analysts to ensure a successful implementation / maintenance of the systems and end-to-end workflows.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serves as the initial point of support for issues or requests related to HBH’s clinical systems.
- Maintains clinical system dictionaries or master files, tests and implements custom or vendor supplied software.
- Participates in the design and implementation of process changes for electronic healthcare records.
- Configures applications to best meet business goals and functional requirements.
- Recommends opportunities to add new functionality to existing computer systems.
- Researches emerging technologies to determine what can increase an organization’s efficiency and effectiveness as necessary.
- Participates in comprehensive systems test plans and upgrade/release management activities.
- Documents all work per IT standards and process including incident, request and change management.
- Escalates highly complex or urgent service issues to the Senior Clinical Systems analyst, HBH Leadership or directly to the vendor(s).
- Trains systems’ end users to correct erroneous data by utilizing proper procedures in EMR (e.g. LinkLogic, Duplicate Chart Merging, File in Error, etc.).
- Creates, updates, and distributes supplemental documents in support of best practice workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum of an BA degree in technology, public health or equivalent experience, two years of relevant work experience
- Previous Electronic Medical Records application.
- Experience with data quality and governance.
- Strong communication and team building skills required, as well as a commitment to providing informative and friendly end-user support
