Payrate: $19.00-$24.00/hr Based on Experience

Summary:
As a Yard Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operations of our masonry yard and building materials retail store. You will be responsible for handling various tasks related to inventory management, customer service, and maintaining a safe and organized yard environment. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service

Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner

Provide product information, answer questions, and assist customers in selecting the right materials

Load and unload materials for customers, ensuring their satisfaction
Inventory Management

Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials, ensuring accuracy and quality

Maintain proper inventory levels and assist with inventory counts

Help with restocking and replenishing materials in the yard
Yard Maintenance

Keep the yard clean, organized, and free from hazards

Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently
-
Perform regular equipment maintenance and report any issues
Safety Compliance

Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment

Assist in promoting a culture of safety among all employees and customers
Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of inventory, deliveries, and customer transactions

Report any discrepancies or incidents to the Yard Manager/Supervisor
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Previous experience in a similar role is a plus

Forklift and front loader experience strongly desired
-
Strong communication and customer service skills
-
Physical stamina and ability to bend, push, pull, carry between 50 to 100 lbs repeatedly/on a regular basis

Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach and lift

Prolonged standing and walking
-
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Team player and able to work independently with a positive attitude

Basic math and conversion rates knowledge required to be successful in this role
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Forklift certification preferred but not required (training may be provided).

Front End Loader certification preferred but not required (training may be provided).

Experience in a similar industry or with specific inventory management software.
