Essential Functions:

Creates instructions for machinists to guide setup.

Analyzes job orders, drawings, and 3D CAD design blueprints to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.

Reviews job orders and performs necessary calculations to complete the order. Performs calculations related to programming including but not limited to where materials should be cut.

Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.

Collaborates with engineers for inquiries related to CAD models and/or blueprints.

Conducts simulations or tests to ensure completed programs functions properly and produces items that meet specifications.

Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software: Mastercam/esprit.

Determines sequence of operations in a program.

Selects proper cutting tools needed to machine work pieces into the desired shapes.

Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency.

Performs other duties and projects as business needs require as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
-
Graduate of technical school, full apprenticeship program, or completion of in-company four-year training program to satisfaction of plant training committee.

Experienced in 5-axis programming, CNC mills, and CNC lathes.

Experienced in Mastercam and Esprit

Minimum seven (7) years of set-up experience as a machinist.
Pay Range: $32.00/hour - $53.00/hour
