Job Description: Under the guidance of the SVP of Consulting Services, the Quality Assurance Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of top-notch patient/resident care outcomes, efficient utilization of resources, and ethical business practices within our contracted entities. This role involves comprehensive planning, execution, and evaluation of Quality Measurement and Performance Improvement (QMPI) programs. The preferred candidate would be located within Los Angeles County as this position is based there and will require travel to healthcare locations across the county.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct periodic visits to contracted entities to assess the quality of care provided to residents and identify opportunities for additional services based on QI and QMPI trends.
- Collaborate with Area CEOs to provide regular updates on nursing service status, submitting detailed reports and action plans as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with nursing staff and allied professionals while identifying and addressing their educational needs through meetings and in-service classes.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of nursing personnel, maintaining high standards for nursing practice.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance nursing service objectives and standards, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe environment within facilities, including disaster preparedness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the accuracy of MDS documentation and collaborate with the MDS Coordinator to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Assist in facility preparedness for state surveys, JCAHO inspections, and other certifications.
- Investigate unusual occurrences or alleged abuse, promptly notifying relevant stakeholders and recommending appropriate actions.
- Assume interim responsibility for nursing services in the absence of the Director of Nursing Services, subject to approval by the Contract Entities Governing Body.
- Maintain a professional image and uphold company standards for consumer satisfaction and resident rights protection.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with the capacity to collaborate effectively across all levels of personnel.
- Ability to inspire enthusiasm and cooperation among team members.
- Genuine interest in and respect for people, with a strong desire to serve them.
- Flexibility to work with individuals from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California.
- Experience or training in nursing service, administration, or relevant specialties (e.g., rehabilitation, psychiatric, geriatric nursing).
- Minimum of two years' experience in nursing administration and/or supervision in a healthcare facility.
- Knowledge of OBRA, State Regulations, Title 22, MDS/PDPM, and TAR as applicable.
Pay Scale*:
$165k to $200k per year (*based on experience.)
