The HR Manager will provide that facility with Human Resource services. He/she is responsible for understanding the business needs of the Louisville, KY facility and then translating those needs into HR services to ensure the facility benefits from the standardized processes. He/she is responsible for ensuring both the needs of the business and the needs of the people are met while driving Dana’s standardized processes into the facility
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive plant HR strategy and action plan aligned with corporate, business and plant objectives and priorities
- Ensure implementation of Dana policies and standardized processes within the Dana facility
- Assist Center of Excellence in defining facility strategies (i.e. training, recruiting and staffing, labor relations)
- Deploy strategies and programs designed by the Dana Centers of Excellence & Service Provider
- Provide feedback to the Dana Centers of Excellence to ensure business needs are met
- Assist and facilitate employee development programs from Dana Organization Development & Learning Centers of Excellence
- Facilitate issue resolution between employees and managers, as required
- Perform employee and labor relations duties, including grievance procedures and contract implementation
- Coordinate staffing (including recruiting, selections, and placement) with Dana Centers of Excellence and the Service Provider
- Oversee time and attendance activities at the facility level
- Act as a consultant to Business Leaders for Human Resource issues (i.e., career development, staffing, discipline, performance and talent management)
- Analyze HR metrics and create and implement action plans based on those metrics in line with Center of Excellence and/or business objectives
- Ensure implementation of training strategy
- Work collaboratively with Lean initiatives to ensure success of continuous improvement
- Facilitate employee involvement programs
- Facilitate community service and involvement
- Ensure that Affirmative Action plans are in place and implemented: Participate in any OFCCP audits (US Only)
- Coordinate facility’s communication efforts (i.e., newsletters, plant meetings, etc)
- Ensure orientation and induction for newly hired employees and contractors is completed
- Perform internal investigations, prepare necessary documentation, and testify at hearings, as required
- Ensure implementation of facility Health & Safety program
- Work collaboratively with geographic or center lead to ensure alignment process to region
- Implement diversity strategy with the facility
- Work with local and state agencies on supplemental grants and training assistance
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience as HR generalist in manufacturing facility.
- Union facility experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
- Certification in Professional Human Resources (i.e. PHR) preferred.
- Ability to travel within geographic area.
