- Bachelor’s in Education or related fields required. Masters or doctorate degree preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience teaching in elementary and/or early childhood (pre-K) settings.
- History of effectiveness in mentoring and guiding the professional development of teachers and school staff members.
- Child Care director credentials (current or obtained within 6 months)
Overview of Responsibilities
- Lead City Church Academy’s Early Childhood Programs
- Preschool, Kinder-Prep, VPK
- Assist in leading City Church Academy’s Elementary/Secondary School and Special Programs
- Academic School, Summer Camp, Extended Day Program, Extracurricular Activities
- This is a year-round administrative position with paid time off and holiday breaks
Summary of Performance Expectations
- Demonstrate personal and professional behaviors consistent with biblical principles and quality practices in education as a community leader
- Achieve results on the academy’s goals (academic, social, and spiritual) through leadership actions that build and support student success
- Collaboratively develop and implement an instructional framework that aligns curriculum with state & FLOCS standards, effective instructional practices, and student learning needs
- Employs and monitors a decision-making process that is based on vision, mission and improvement priorities using facts and data
- Recruit, retain and develop an effective and diverse faculty and staff using a Christ-centered discipleship model
- Manages assigned areas of the organization, operations, and facilities in ways that maximize the use of resources (fiscal stewardship) to promote a safe, efficient, legal, and effective learning environment
- Ensure academy is compliant with applicable laws, rules and regulations for a childcare institution
- Actively recruit and retain students as prioritized by the vision of City Church Academy
- Build relationships and collaborate with parents, church and community to support student success
- Execute the strategic plans of the academy as a ministry of City Church

- As a life-long learner, the Academy Director possesses a growth mindset and eagerness to explore new ideas and approaches. The Assistant Director will also continue their education and knowledge through professional development (i.e. FLOCS conference).
- Demonstrates a dedication to the cultivation of children’s intellectual, spiritual, social, physical, and emotional development.
- Helps children explore God’s world and discover their place in it.
- Demonstrates an ability to effectively instruct, inspire and assess children in a variety of areas (academic, intellectual, spiritual, social, physical, etc.) through creative, purposeful, and age- appropriate methods in working with other educational professionals.
- Has a servant leadership management style. Leads with transparency and is receptive to an appropriate level of accountability and welcomes and acts upon constructive feedback. Maintains high standards of excellence in all work and takes responsibility for positive outcomes.
- Possesses strong and compelling written and verbal communication skills. Has a gentle and gracious way with others while also energizing and inspiring staff and community to positive ends.
- Possesses strong administrative and organizational skills and demonstrates a faculty with managing multiple tasks and parties through effective use of time and resources.
- Identifies areas for improvement and affects change, while cultivating positive relationships.
- Effectively collaborates with the Academy Director and team.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
