The Volunteer Ministries Manager shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.
This position leads and develops the Volunteer Program for The Glen Eyrie Group, including recruitment and training of volunteers and oversee onsite housing for Glen Eyrie volunteers and staff. This position serves as internal consultant and liaison and involves direct personal contact with the community, staff, and clients, as well as volunteer staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Volunteer Management – 95%
- Manages and directs the volunteer program: setting goals, develops budget, maintain records, supervise, exercise risk management, and conducts evaluations.
- Implements purposeful recruitment, screening, and placement of volunteers to fulfill the mission of Glen Eyrie.
- Coordination of volunteer placement at Glen Eyrie.
- Develops and delivers orientation for new volunteers, including safety training with CARM.
- Oversees a communication and recognition system for all volunteers at Glen Eyrie
- Coordinates the use of service groups in facilities, housekeeping, and Eagle Lake Camp
- Develops strong relationships with volunteers, ensuring that they feel seen and valued.
- Displays strong organizational and office management skills
- Attend leadership meeting meetings including but not limited to, Leader Community, BEO Meetings and Gatherings
- Oversees onsite housing for Glen Eyrie Volunteers and Staff and recruits and oversee Resident Advisors.
Community – 5%
- Connects with multiple community organizations for recruitment and networking.
- Develops and implements appropriate presentations within the community.
- Leads tours for the public, private groups and school groups as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Interfaces with Risk Managers and HR to mitigate risk.
- Participate in Navigators’ on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
- Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other releases as required.
- Submit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Administer PPRs for direct reports.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual: Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
Experience: Three years of volunteer ministry leadership experience preferred. 1 year of managing support staff preferred.
Technical Knowledge & Skills: Microsoft Office
Communication & Leadership: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong working relationships required.
Education: HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Compensation Range: $46,644.00 - $72,956.00 annually
