We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team.

Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the daily processing of incoming vendor invoices and payments. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the payment for goods and services used by the organization. This is considered a salaried non-exempt full-time position, with occasional opportunities for over time. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reviewing AP invoices for accuracy, approval status, and entering in system
- Discrepancy research & resolution
- Preparing daily and weekly vendor payments; check and electronic
- Making account adjustments as needed
- Maintaining good relationships with vendors regarding payment status and credit claims
- Weekly AP aging reconciliation
- Preparing weekly & monthly reports for management
- Cultivating an orderly and efficient AP system
- Ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field of study
- 2-3 years of previous Accounts Payable or related experience
- Must be a fast learner, efficient, organized, detail-oriented, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and ability to work independently
- Excellent math and computer skills (Excel, Word, Gmail, etc.), experience with ERP systems a plus
- High level of oral and written communication skills to effectively deal with internal and external persons
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Motivated to work hard in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company
- Must perform duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
