The Position
The Technical Manager of Clearinghouse is a strategic role at the heart of this organization’s healthcare clearinghouse operations, ensuring the seamless execution of technical processes and the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This individual will be instrumental in driving the technical direction of the organization, fostering innovation, and maintaining commitment to excellence in serving the needs of the payers and providers served by the company.
Key functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Spearheading the implementation of Healthcare Clearinghouse practices, including mastery over X12 EDI transactions (837, 835, 270/271, 276/277), and ensuring compliance with CAQH requirements
- Utilizing expert knowledge in payer and provider requirements, including HIPAA guidelines, data mapping, reporting, and various data formats (XML, JSON, CSV)
- Leading and guiding the technical team in all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring successful project delivery
- Upholding and promoting high standards of software quality within the team by cultivating best practices and a culture of continuous improvement
- Offering technical leadership and mentorship to team members, enhancing their skills and fostering a collaborative environment
- Engaging in cross-functional collaboration with developers, business analysts, and architects to design, develop, test, and maintain robust applications
- Facilitating the documentation of user requirements, user stories, and project estimates
- Generating comprehensive reports and manuals to communicate the status, operation, and maintenance of software systems
- Conducting and participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and code, ensuring adherence to industry standards
- Managing the packaging and deployment of software releases, and fine-tune application integrations
- Resolving technical issues, applying diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to maintain application performance
- Committing to delivering on-time and on-budget solutions, aligning with the organization’s high-quality development principles
- Providing advanced support to business users, addressing complex issues as a third-level support expert
- Performing other duties, as assigned
The Successful Candidate
The Technical Manager of Clearinghouse is a consummate professional, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities to function as a key contributor and leader of the organization’s healthcare clearinghouse operations. These competencies include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline
- Management certification relevant to the role is desirable
- 4+ years of experience in a healthcare clearinghouse environment
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational prowess, with a track record of managing high-performing teams
- Exceptional technical skills, with a strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot software issues
- A proactive approach to building professional relationships with both staff and clients
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and common web programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize competing demands
- Self-motivated, self-starting personality
- Ability to work onsite, in Plano, 3 days per week
