TITLE: SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER
DIVISION: EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
STATUS: FULL-TIME; EXEMPT
POSITION PURPOSE
Initial point of contact for employer groups/employees on escalated service related issues. Foster long term relationships between Cross Employee Benefits, our clients, and their employees. Develop and maintain a positive relationship and rapport with each insurance carrier to satisfy our clients’ needs and facilitate the processing of business. Build solid partnership with Producers, Account Executives, and Support Team. Make a positive contribution to the overall success of the Cross Employee Benefits team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Overall management and oversight related to agency accounts (exclusive of sales functions) Marketing and Underwriting assistance for new and renewed accounts (Fully Insured and Self-Funded) Collecting and reviewing census data during renewal / marketing Spreadsheet and proposal preparation Thoughtful analysis of options Responsible for the successful and timely implementation of new and renewed accounts Coordinate communication / enrollment materials Present benefit details at employee open enrollment meetings Responsible for compliance items, not limited to but including assistance with filing 5500’s, SPD’s, PCORI Enrollment and billing oversight and advice Intermediary and advocate for/between employer, employee with insurance or TPA’s regarding dispute resolution Certificate and contract review to assure benefits meet warranty’s made in sales proposal and meet the expectations of the client Provide ongoing support for Producers and perform additional administrative tasks as needed. Maintain awareness of new developments or changes with the various carriers and new Federal/State laws that may affect how our clients must administer their benefit programs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend and complete any training sessions or assignments as required. Adhere to processes and standards of the department and agency. Perform other tasks on projects as needed/assigned. Complete and maintain accurate database and files.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

- College degree preferred, however at a minimum a high school diploma or equivalent degree and at least three years of experience in employee benefit account management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- New Hampshire agent’s license in Health and Life.
- Possess communication skills necessary to communicate with insurance companies, clients and prospects concerning employee benefit lines of coverage.
- High level of patience and empathy while working under pressure.
- Intermediate knowledge and ability in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Demonstrated ability to compose clear and accurate routine and non-routine correspondence.
- Proficient in Adobe
- Ability to learn multiple new web applications for data entry
- Proficient in managing projects
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, responsive and self-motivated.
- Familiarity with the health insurance industry and New England carriers preferred.
- Team player and task oriented.
- Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions.
Hybrid schedule eligible after ramp up period (Weekly: 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
