Job Description:
- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
- Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance.
Job Description:
- Looking for an experienced solder/ rework personnel
- The individual will work with the engineering team in troubleshooting and evaluating customer fielded hardware at the in-plant depot.
- Applicant should be able to interface effectively with multiple functional groups including: production, engineering, quality, and other logistics and support personnel to achieve completion of depot operation activities.
- Candidate will perform a variety of complex maintenance tasks (rework, repair, fault isolation) on customer deliverable, electro-mechanical assets, and sub-assemblies such as modules, boards, panels, and cables.
- Assess product needs in accordance with engineering and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product engineering documentation and customer specifications, and recommend actions for coordinative product solution.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to understand schematics, generate rework instructions, diagnose faults and troubleshoot all-up assemblies to the LRU level and circuit cards down to the component level.
- Experience with INDUSTRY SOLDERING - Experience with soldering surface mount (SMT) and through hole components to PWBs
- Trained in IPC specification J-STD-001.
- Uses microscope to verify correct part placement and orientation, manually align parts before soldering and perform post re-flow inspection and touch-up.
- Must be able to read instructions and identify standard SMT components.
- Able to identify and touch up poor wetted solder joints, solder voids / insufficient solder, solder shorts/ bridges, misaligned parts / leads, components and any out-solder defects that may occur during the SMT operation.
- Ability to perform electrical measurements and analysis using a variety of tools, measurement, and test equipment (Multimeters, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzers, network analyzers and waveform generators) to verify compliance to engineering specifications and tolerances
- Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Power Point, and Excel
- Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements
- Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government property.
- Experience in supporting and interfacing with a production floor, fielding technical questions from manufacturers, inspectors, and testers
- Proper record-keeping of lab activities is a must.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with depot level maintenance procedures and repair methods
- Certified in J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721, and IPC-7095
- Knowledge of dynamic digital IO
- Familiarity with digital multi-meters, source measurement units, oscilloscopes, counter/timers, and arbitrary waveform generators
- Ability to move between areas where additional support is required such as testing, mechanical assembly, and wiring are required in addition to soldering.

Pay: $21.24 - $31.00 per hour
