Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess a strong knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures.
Responsibilities: - Assist veterinarians in routine examinations and surgical procedures - Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts - Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian - Provide compassionate care and support to animals and their owners - Maintain accurate medical records for all patients - Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures - Monitor anesthesia during surgeries - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
Requirements: - Certification or Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology preferrable but not required - Avimark or Cornerstone software experience preferred - Proficiency in animal restraint, handling and care preferred - Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and husbandry preferred - Strong communication skills with both clients and team members - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail - Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners Join our team of passionate professionals dedicated to providing top-notch care for our furry friends.
Personal Requirements: - Minimum of 18 years old - Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain. - Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. - Is well-spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature, with honesty and integrity. - Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members. - Has excellent client communication skills. - Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs). Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position. - Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces.
