Job Title: Finance Assistant

Position Overview:
Finance Assistant is responsible for directly supporting the Finance Director and BATP operations. The finance assistant will serve as a liaison with other departments and vendors to address any issues about payroll, PTO, benefits and payables.
HOURS: 40 hours weekly minimum or as necessary to achieve program objectives, responsibilities, and tasks. Have the flexibility to work (8:00 am- 5:30pm) and untraditional hours to meet the needs of the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:-
Review purchase requests and invoices for accuracy and completeness before processing payments
- Reviewing timesheets for accuracy and completeness for payroll

Reviewing payroll allocations
- Reconciling all benefits monthly and communicating any discrepancies to the Finance Director

Process payroll

Set up new employees in QuickBooks and Click time.

Keep PTO bank for all employees up to date

Take deposits to the bank as needed

Maintain vendor files up to date
-
Filing and scanning
-
Assist with grant Monitoring
- Assist with annual audit

Assist with building coverage and crisis hotline

Serves as a backup for other members of the finance department

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:-
Minimum of 1 year of prior office work experience in a financial setting preferred
Education and Other Requirements:-
High School diploma/GED. Some college coursework in accounting preferred

Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.

Must have a clean driving record/automobile insurance coverage/be insurable/ have at least three years of verifiable driving experience.

Provide proof of and maintain personal automobile insurance coverage.

Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.
Job-Specific Competencies:-
Computer knowledge of programs including Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience working with accounting Software

Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills to assist with in-the-moment issues or crises.

Sensitivity regarding the issues of family violence and sexual assault.

Knowledge of basic accounting principles
