Insight into the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the DAS Team in our school-based work as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. We are looking for qualified team members who can contribute to our goal of supporting students and families in achieving the most optimal outcomes.
You’ll be serving at multiple charter schools in your area.

The awesome work you will do:
· Assume responsibility for the organization and operation of work within the area of supporting students and staff working with special education students following federal program guidelines as directed by the district and as specified in 34 Code of Federal Regulations §300.208 (a)(1).
· Abide by the Code of Ethics of ASHA and Rules and Regulations set forth by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Texas Occupations Code (TOC), Chapter 401, §401.312 Board Rules: 22 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 741
· Assist the Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in managing an existing caseload through involvement with the campus evaluation teams, consultation with parents and teachers, assistance in development of Individual Education Plans for eligible students.
· Provide skilled planned therapy based on IEP goals and objectives that have been developed by the supervising speech- language pathologist.
· Prepare clinical materials, monitor and support communication activities in the classroom.
· Document student performance (e.g., tallying data for the SLP to use; preparing charts, records, and graphs) and report this information to the supervising SLP.
· Adhere to a daily schedule developed with the supervising SLP.
· Keep accurate records of all contacts with parents and outside professionals.
· Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
· View self as a vital member of the instructional team, working together with both.
· Attend scheduled meetings and in-services.
· Follow all rules, regulations, and policies DAS and follow directives from superiors.
· Follow attendance policy as assigned by manager.
We would love if you have:
· Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
· Must possess a Current Texas state license as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.
· 2-3 years of experience in a school setting a plus, but not required
· Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development
· Excellent organization and planning skills
· Demonstrated passion for students, especially those with disabilities
· Effective interpersonal skills
· Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Compensation:
· Hourly pay starting at $40/hour based on experience.
