Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to prepare and provide food service to residents in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Attends work as scheduled and follows community’s call-off procedures.
- Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner.
- Keep work area clean and sanitize work surfaces and utensils after food preparation.
- Report unsafe or unsanitary conditions in kitchen and suggest possible solutions to hazards.
- Prepare food which is palatable and appetizing in appearance and served at the proper temperature.
- Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Follow written daily menus and standard recipes.
- Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets.
- Be responsible for avoiding food waste.
- Be responsible for care of food service equipment.
- Work cooperatively with food service staff and other departments.
- Attend in-service training programs for food service employees.
- Observe infection control procedures.
- Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
- Performs all duties in adherence to Spring Hills, LLC standards.
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and co-workers.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of Spring Hills, LLC.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience And Education:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); 1 plus years experience, or an equivalent of education and experience; culinary degree a plus. May be required to obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates
