Insurance Application Analyst
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Insurance Application Analyst is employed by CCAP to provide service and support to CCAP Insurance Programs. The Insurance Application Analyst is a member of the CCAP Insurance staff, performs most work with minimal supervision and reports to the Deputy Managing Director for general direction and work evaluation. Further, this position will work closely with the Insurance Application Specialist and will serve as the primary back up to the Insurance Application Specialist.
- Monitor the various insurance software applications, including, but not limited to, the online claims reporting system, claims handling application, underwriting repository, reporting software and more. This includes providing day-to-day application support to the claims and underwriting teams.
- Assist in the management of the development environments and ongoing testing of the claims application utilized by CCAP Insurance Programs.
- Create, edit and customize new and existing claim data reports for CCAP Insurance Programs, and at the request of staff, generate, extract and securely send reports to vendors and various insurance partners.
- Ensure that Medicare Compliance Reports are provided regularly to the Claims Director.
- Assist in the management of CCAP Insurance Programs membership management systems, D365, including but not limited to creating, changing and expiration of records, and assist with changes and modifications of this software to best manage CCAP Insurance Programs.
- Collaborate with Technology the Insurance Application Specialist to ensure compliance with CCAP Technology Policies, processes, etc. within the Insurance Programs.
- Create and update application documentation for internal use of the various applications and software.
- Work directly with PComp staff in the implementation of new WC rules and regulations.
- Assist in all software upgrades specific to CCAP Insurance Programs.
- Support the Insurance Application Specialist with training of any new insurance applications and provide continuing education/training of existing products
- Support the Insurance Application Specialist with training new insurance staff and program members regarding insurance specific applications.
- Serve as the backup to coordinate provisions for new insurance staff regarding specific insurance applications.
- At the direction of the Insurance Technology Application Specialist, communicate to staff when insurance related system changes are implemented and provide support.
- Maintain and manage all claims letters (i.e. word merges) housed in the claim software system.
- Monitor and provide support for secure sites by overseeing usernames and passwords.
- Provide access and support to SharePoint.
- Assist in CCAP Insurance Programs audits, technical needs and support.
- Upon request of management, create, change and delete claim application user accounts.
- Responsible for configuring and troubleshooting member access to CCAP Insurance Programs Online Claims Reporting System.
- Troubleshoot, research and remediate insurance staff issues related to claims and underwriting application software.
- Assist and manage special projects, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
College Degree required.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, D365, Adobe and SharePoint software.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING
Insurance knowledge preferred in workers’ compensation, property, liability or public entity insurances, including familiarity with insurance terms, underwriting or claims.
Application and customer support experience required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Experience troubleshooting and documenting the problem through resolution.
· Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system specifications.
· Experience training groups of employees on system application policies, procedures, rules, etc.
· Ability to understand business needs and provide system options/process recommendations to support the request.
· Enjoys problem solving and the challenge of providing excellent customer service to CCAP members and colleagues.
· Proven experience working in a team environment.
· Independently manages assigned tasks to meet targeted implementation dates.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position may require standing or sitting for extended periods of time and the ability to operate computer equipment essential to the completion of the position’s responsibilities.
This position may require occasional work outside of core business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
FLSA
For purposes of the Fair Labor Standards Act this is an exempt position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,500.00 - $50,000.00 per year
