Reports to: Chef
Position Summary:
This position will require the washing and sanitizing of pans, pots, dishes, glassware, silverware, and other elements used in a kitchen and returning items to their appropriate storage areas. Have knowledge on how to operate an industrial dishwashing machine.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Wash & sanitize all soiled dishes, glasses, silverware pots, and pans, trays kitchen items by hand or utilizing the industrial dishwasher. Return all items to their appropriate storage areas following proper sanitation procedures.
- Ensures that soiled dishes are stacked properly so that they can be picked easily for washing purposes
- Clean dishes and flatware with water in order to clear them of dirt; scraping when necessary
- Place dishes, glasses, silverware and any necessary items on racks to be placed in the industrial dish washer
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment or utensils in clean orderly condition
- Assist servers with busing of tables in the dining room area
- Assist with any kitchen duties directed by Chef
- Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, or refrigerators
- Set up tables for events
- Sweep, mop floors; wipe down walls; wipe down counter spaces
- Change garbage bags and clean garbage cans as needed
- Help with unloading trucks that deliver food or supplies; receiving and storing them in their designated areas
- Observe approved sanitation procedures at all times
- Observe infection control procedure at all times
- Observe Safety requirements at all times
- Remain on task and work efficiently
Physical Job Requirements
To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical task for extended periods of time. Proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the facility must be used.
In a typical eight- hour day, employee will:
- Stand/walk up to eight hours a day
- Sit up to two hours a day
- Frequently support up to 30 pounds
- Frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
