SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Host/ Hostess position is the first and last contact that will greet all guests in person or by telephone, take accurate reservations using the reservation system and communicate and accommodate all guest requests. Must be knowledgeable of restaurant menus, Open Table, special events, the property, and its personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Maintains consistent attention to the entrance of the restaurant and welcomes all guests with a smile and appropriate greeting.

Maintain neat and clean workstations during service.

Schedules dining reservations and arrange special services for diners using the reservation system.
-
Seat guests and presents the menu and any specials seats (according to company standards.)

Escort guests to the tables and assist in seating.
-
Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups.
- Communicates with the wait staff and other restaurant personnel to ensure the guests' experience meets concept/company standards.

Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables while estimating wait times for guests.
- Monitor the guest waiting list and ensure their needs are met while waiting.

Answers all calls with proper telephone etiquette.

Maps floor plan and staffing assignment with management prior to the shift.

Assists guests with coats, directions, special requests, valet, etc.

Communicates daily covers for each meal period to the F&B team.

Keeps all menus current, clean, in good condition, and ready to use.

Being a Brand Ambassador at all times.

Performs other duties in a team effort during downtime which may include rolling silverware, expediting food orders, washing dishes, preparing food for the To-go areas, and properly cleaning and filling table condiments (salt & pepper, sugar, napkins, ketchup, and mustard bottles, etc.)

Assist in keeping the lounge area clean and organized at all times.
- Makes sure entry doors are clean, free of debris, and inviting.

Ensure that seating is fair for all service staff.

Other duties as assigned.

Check the surroundings to make sure all items are in order such as lights, music, entrance display, signs, mirrors and windows, plants, restrooms, floors and carpets, temperature, etc.
- Check with the Manager or Chef to learn the specials.
- Ask questions on food items that you are not sure of.

Speak and write fluently in English & Spanish.
