The Administrative Director oversees administrative activities for one or more similar clinical, research or administrative area(s). Manages all administrative aspects working collaboratively with both internal and external customers to develop and systematically coordinate the administrative services for the department. Participates in the strategic planning process as well as compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
The Department of Computational Biology is seeking a highly motivated administrative leader to join our team. The Administrative Director will report to the department chair and oversee all department administrative processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Leading a team of administrative specialists, a grants administrator, and a scientific research writer to accomplish the department’s administrative initiatives through goal setting, performance management, development, and engagement.
Contributing to the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department in collaboration with senior management.
Managing institutional and grant budgets, purchasing approval, tracking actuals and variances, preparing ad hoc and recurring reports, analyzing trends, and communicating insights.
Serving as key administrative contract and liaison to various departments and external collaborators.
Overseeing contracts and vendor management, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
Performing other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Minimum Experience:
Minimum Experience: 7+ significant years experience in managing communications with cross functional leaders/ stakeholders of a strategic or sensitive nature.
Experience in long term resource planning and budgeting.
Significant experience in vendor and contract management.
Experience in leading a functional team.
This position requires a high level of attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, proficient use of various software technologies, including the Microsoft Office suite and Workday, and the ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple projects. The Administrative Director will also be required to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. The successful candidate will possess outstanding analytical skills, a positive attitude, and be a quick learner with an ambition to acquire new skills.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Administrative Director - Computational Biology.
