We are currently seeking an experienced trial attorney to lead all aspects of trial preparation and litigation proceedings. This position requires expertise in handling trials and effectively advocating for clients in court.
Duration: 4 months (June to September)
Court: Los Angelas Superior court
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of all trial-related materials and documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and exhibits
- Organize and manage trial exhibits, evidence, and other essential documents.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials, presenting persuasive arguments and advocating for their interests.
- Develop trial strategies and ensure thorough case preparation.
Requirements:
- Licensed attorney in the California Bar.
- Extensive experience in trial advocacy, with a track record of successful courtroom representation.
- Proficiency in drafting motion summary judgments and other trial-related documents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing trial preparation efficiently.
- Excellent oral advocacy skills, with the ability to effectively present arguments and communicate with judges and juries.
- Familiarity with SEC-related matters cases.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in the following areas of law:
- Contract Law: Understanding the formation, performance, and termination of contracts to determine breaches or fraudulent behavior.
- Tort Law: Knowledge of legal principles regarding civil torts, including fraud, negligent misrepresentation as a tort.
- Negligent Misrepresentation: Familiarity with definitions, elements, and standards of proof for negligent misrepresentation.
- Evidence Law: Ability to collect, protect, and utilize evidence to support claims and counter opposing defenses.
- Litigation Procedure: Understanding civil litigation procedures, including rules for filing lawsuits, responding to complaints, discovery, trial proceedings, and appellate procedures.
