Join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team, where we specialize in providing exceptional pain management treatment. We are currently seeking a dedicated PRN Registered Nurse to join our Surgery Center. The schedule will be on Mondays and Thursdays, with times varying based on the first and last surgeries of the day, typically starting at 6am and ending between 3pm-5pm.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for various tasks including:
- Perform patient intake, prioritize calls, and manage clinical records within the EMR system.
- Provide support during medical procedures, including administering IV sedation and fulfilling physician orders.
- Prepare patients thoroughly for surgery and meticulously record intra-operative details.
- Conduct assessments in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and educate patients and responsible parties on post-operative instructions.
- Enforce strict infection control protocols to safeguard the well-being of patients and staff.
- Aid in the sterilization of surgical instruments and maintain their inventory.
- Clean and restock rooms and medical supplies to ensure readiness for patient care.
- Monitor medication inventory and maintain the crash cart for emergency situations.
- Assist in the turnover of operating rooms and operate autoclave equipment.
- Support physicians during emergency situations by helping to manage codes.
- Ensure anesthesia and crash carts are adequately stocked for immediate use.
- Organize daily allotments of narcotics and paralytics on anesthesia carts.
- Regularly inventory and replenish medications required for carts.
