Purpose of the Job: To create an environment where traditional worship music will serve the congregation in ushering them into God's presence.We desire to partner with an experienced Director that has a consecrated heart to lead our team. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the choir for weekly Sunday service, high holy days, and special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Choir Director will cooperate and work with other staff members and will exhibit a servant attitude as part of the team
- Will work with appropriate committees in scheduling programs
- Assist the pastors in planning and coordinating meaningful worship services and special seasonal programs
- Be responsible for all phases of the music ministry. This included but is not limited to: Adult choirs, praise teams (youth and adults), vocal ensembles, hand bell choir, instrumental ensembles, graded children’s choirs, and soloists
- Develop and guide traditional music – help secure special music and musicians for all services
- Be responsible for obtaining appropriate substitutes in the event of their absence.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
A college degree in the area of music is preferred as well as 5 years’
experience in church music
Excellent interpersonal skills, Volunteer management, sensitivity to confidentiality
Biblical knowledge and understanding of Wesleyan Theology
Computer competency
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
