Stepping Stones Pediatric Therapy strives to meet the needs of children, teens and young adults with disabilities, developmental delays, chronic healthcare needs and/or acute rehabilitative needs. Our therapy services may include the use of a variety of therapy techniques, intensive weeks of therapy, participation in group or community activities in order to provide individualized programs for clients that best meet the needs of each family. Our therapists work with patients and their families, together finding the best options to reach their potentials. We are dedicated to delivering the highest quality, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services, utilizing flexible, individualized plans. Therapists work together with our children, youth, young adults and families, to provide flexible, individualized services that best serve each individual situation. In addition, we work hard to provide caregivers with support, including providing respite care, trainings and networking opportunities in order to empower families.
**Group Activity Facilitator**
Join our team of therapists as a Group Activity Facilitator at our nonprofit pediatric clinic. We serve children and young adults with disabilities and developmental delays. We will be expanding our group offerings in August and are looking for someone with a background in special education, child development, occupational therapy, speech therapy or developmental disabilities to run fun, interactive on line and in person groups that help children and young adults to build developmental skills. Groups may include Zumbini, Yoga, Baby sign language, video game based groups, cooking groups, craft activities, etc and must be inclusive of all abilities. Some groups may be held at off site community locations. Certification in Playmakers, Zumbini, BabySigns Too, Kindermusic or similar is preferred. Experience running groups or managing a classroom of children is required.
**Duties:**
- Conduct group sessions focusing on building social, communication, daily living and fine motor skills.
- Assist in marketing groups to a wide range of families.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for children and their caregivers.
- Collaborate with therapists regarding skills and supports needed.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions and participant progress.
- Clean and sanitize play areas and toys after each group.
**Skills:**
- Experience in facilitating groups of children.
- Experience in working with children, teens and young adults with Autism, Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting children and families.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 14 per week
