Truck Yard Job Description: Assistant Manager

We’re looking for an Assistant Manager that can handle the operational complexity, high volume bar service, and community relations of our urban oasis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree is preferred. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.
- Working knowledge of business software (Word, Excel, Social Media)
- Working knowledge of POS and inventory systems
- 2+ years experience managing a team of 30+ employees
- 1+ years in an AM role of a restaurant or bar
- 1+ years experience managing a high volume liquor/beer/wine bar in excess of $5 million in revenue
- Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, record-keeping, and preparation of reports
- Must possess a valid drivers' license and have reliable transportation
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must agree to background check
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scheduling and managing scheduled shifts, directing work of employees
- Interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and disciplining of employees
- Handling employee and customer complaints professionally and with care
- Motivating employees to execute the overall direction and goals of Truck Yard
- Ordering food, bar, and necessary supplies
- Facilitating portions of new hire orientation
- Controlling food and supply inventory
- Contributing to cost of goods management
- Managing staff within assigned department
- Showing up prepared to report on assigned responsibilities at management and staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Self-disciplined and self-starter
- Ability to motivate employees to work as a team
- Ability to deal with the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems
- Must possess good communication skills for dealing with staff, customers, and community
- Ability to selectively and effectively hire, develop, and coach others
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage, and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities
- Able to perform all functions at the restaurant level
- Strong knowledge of basic Human Relations
- Ability to interpret labor laws, personnel rules, and regulations

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW
- Truck Yard does not permit any employee to consume alcohol at any Brain Storm Shelter Restaurant location, whether on- or off-duty.
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
- Position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Position may require working with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operation phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
