SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Food & Beverage Host courteously greets and escorts guests to tables, assists in seating, keeps the outlet clean, and prepares the outlet for service. The Host follows pre-determined service standards to ensure a positive guest dining experience at a level consistent with an upscale dining environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide exceptional guest service at all times.

Greet the guest with a smile in an upbeat and positive manner (use their name if known).

Multi-tasking in dealing with ringing phones (must answer within 3 rings) while providing excellent guest service to restaurant guests.

Escort guests to tables and assist guests with chairs, add or remove set-ups to reflect the number of guests dining. Make sure to assist guests with children and/or disabilities to ensure the guest is comfortable.

Provide guests with menus and information about the service team such as who their server will be.

Communicate with the server if seating a table that is outside of their assigned station to ensure continuous exceptional guest service.

Inspect tables, stations and floors ensuring that all set ups meet the department standards. Check throughout meal period. Relay deficiencies to respective personnel and follow up on corrections.

Inspect and maintain the condition and cleanliness of menus to ensure an appropriate amount of menus are available for use in the outlet.

Extend courteous departures as guests leave by expressing gratitude for their business and invite them to return.

Knowledgeable of menu items, including details of wines included on the wine list and any specials that we may be running.

Resolves guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction or, if unable to resolve, contact the Manager to handle issue(s).

Remain familiar with hotel services and local activities in order to respond to guest inquiries.

Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all Departmental policies, procedures and service standards.

Assists Food Servers, if needed, in delivering alcoholic beverages to the guests or assist bussers in setting the table for the correct number of guests.

Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum six months previous experience performing same or similar job duties preferred.

Minimum six months previous experience working in an upscale dining environment preferred.

Experience providing high-touch guest service expected in an upscale room environment.

Previous experience exercising sound judgment when dealing with difficult guest situations.

Ability to effectively communicate in English, both in written and verbal forms.

At least 18 years of age.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Walking or standing up to 100% of the time, including movement on slippery and/or narrow surfaces.

Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity 75% of the time.

Vision, hearing, speaking and literacy (critical).
WORKING CONDITIONS
