Position:
North Central District Health Department has an opportunity for a full-time entry-level Maintenance Technician with the willingness to learn and looking for opportunities for advancement in the future. This person will need to have the ability to work with diverse backgrounds, be very organized, highly flexible, have good interpersonal skills, and be good at multitasking. This is a contract position and serves under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. The salary range for this position is $19.37 - $24.09 an hour based on skillset and experience. This position is a 37.5-hour work week, M-F, with occasional weekends and overtime. Some of the responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to;
· Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used on assigned jobs and projects.
· Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems in all health department locations.
· Coordinates or inspects, operates, and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems in all health department locations.
· Does general repairs such as painting, patching walls, hanging shelves, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping.
· Assisting with renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities.
· Assist vendors/Contractors with major contract work on the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in all health department locations
· Arrange desks, files, and other office equipment.
· Perform janitorial duties and other related tasks as required.
· Possession of a current and valid motor vehicle operator’s license with a clean driving history.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Two (2) years’ experience in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities that would include the ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures.
A technical background in electrical (i.e., 120V, 208 single phase, and 208 three phase) is preferred.

North Central District Health Department serves the communities of Henry, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties in Kentucky. We are centrally located between Louisville and Lexington. We are also surrounded with beautiful parks, great dining, and proximity to Kentucky’s only designer mall.
