Primary Purpose of Position:
At The Stow Company, the Maintenance Team is a key part of our dynamic and growing team! Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic/Machine Repair will help to maintain production equipment and facilities to enable teams to safely manufacture high quality products in an efficient, timely, and complete manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Complete a variety of projects as assigned
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and PLC issues
- Utilize basic machining tools, powered hand tools, and other maintenance-related equipment
- Read machine drawings and control schematics
- Apply electrical, electronic, and PLC experience
- Adhere to all safety requirements
- Participate in problem-solving initiatives, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing activities
- Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Machine journeyman’s card, or 8 years documented experience in machine repair position
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills
- Exhibit strong attention to detail
- Solid analytical skills
- Able to work quickly and efficiently
- Actively participates in all team meetings and events
- Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally to The Stow Company
- Must have excellent customer service skills; including strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel in an office and a manufacturing environment
- Ability to take the initiative and work well independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Able to drive Powered Lift Equipment
- Able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, etc.
- Able to perform full range of body movements, such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Able to perform activities requiring repetitive motions
- Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Able to tolerate an environment where sawdust particles are present
- Sitting at workstation approximately 5 percent of work time
- Standing and walking approximately 95 percent of work time
- Must be able to travel between plant and office locations
- Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice
- Manufacturing environment with multiple machinery and moving parts, narrow aisles and passageways
SCHEDULE: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:00am
The Stow Company may temporarily assign any team member with duties outside of their normal responsibilities. Such assignments may be warranted due to a variety of specific requirements, conditions and/or the capabilities of available personnel. Management will determine the nature and duration of those assignments.
