Description:
Title: Accounting Assistant
Location: Waunakee, WI
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm, with some variation)
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable

Manage the entire accounts payable process, including receiving, reviewing, and processing vendor invoices while using related accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks)

Code and allocate expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centers

Address vendor inquiries, reconcile statements, and resolve discrepancies in a prompt and efficient manner
Accounts Receivable

Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions

Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
General Ledger

Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording financial transactions

Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts to support month-end and year-end closing processes
Inventory Control

Place orders, maintain accurate records of inventory levels, and deliver supplies to employees on a daily basis

Investigate discrepancies between records and physical inventory counts as necessary
- Job-related duties include the above description, but are not limited by them; employees in this role will likely be asked to assist in other administrative departments, which offers variety to the unique position
Requirements:
- Required: Proven experience in accounting role (minimum 1-year)

Required: Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
