Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Office Manager to join our team. As the Accounting Manager/Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our organization. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to the owner.
Duties:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff
-Submits quarterly sales tax
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices
-Coordinate annual audits and manage interactions with auditors to address audit queries effectively
-Oversee human resource functions including recruiting, hiring, compensation and benefits, training and professional development, performance evaluations, policy making, and maintaining staff handbook
-Ensure compliance with labor laws and human resource standards
-Payroll processing for 30 +/- employees
-Understand, coordinate, and implement processes for employee benefits including but not limited to deductions for health insurance, 401k plan and other miscellaneous deductions. Process semi-monthly payroll tax deposits
-Reviews, monitors, and reconciles bank and investment accounts; ensures checks and ACH payments are cleared for multiple accounts and performs a wide range of routine financial administrative tasks
-Performs other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of private equity accounting principles
- Proficient in double entry bookkeeping and financial report interpretation
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Knowledge of American Contractor a huge plus.
