Oversees the Operation of Passenger Shelters and associated training aids at the Air Deployment Facilities. Coordinates the processing, loading of personnel and cargo based on deployment plans, and aircraft schedules. Performs passenger service duties to ensure quality customer service and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Defense Transportation Regulations. Performs passenger service dispatch duties, maintains aircraft status boards, receives air mission set-ups, and relays information on passenger processing and movements to the ADACG Operations/Shift leader. Coordinates and controls the processing and movement of passengers through air terminal and other designated areas. Assist deploying unit with air passenger manifesting and ensures the air manifest is legible with all required data. Provides passengers with flight information/delays. Primary purpose of the work is to provide air transportation cargo/personnel support services within a secure military deployment area.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
PAX Shed Specialist: Reports directly to Shift Lead and oversees the operation of Passenger Shelters and associated training aids at the Air Deployment Facilities to ensure quality customer service and compliance with the Defense Transportation Regulation and published standard operating procedures. They perform passenger service dispatch duties, maintain aircraft status boards, receive air mission set-ups, and relay information on passenger processing and movements to the A/DACG Operations/Shift leader, Troop Commander and Ground Liaison Personnel. The Pax Shed Specialist will make security checks to ensure all doors are locked and the facility is free from damage and all facility accouterments are functional. The Pax Shed Specialist tracks inbound/outbound missions using the Global Decision Support System (GDSS) and/or Single Mobility Systems (SMS). They assist the deploying unit with air passenger manifesting and ensure the air manifest is legible with all required data. They provide passengers with flight information/delays. The PAX Shed Specialist is responsible for the physical security of passengers in the Passenger Shelter and ensures the Troop Commander conducts the prohibited items briefing and performs the anti-hijack inspection. They coordinate the processing and loading of personnel according to deployment plans and aircraft schedules in partnership with Air Force personnel while verifying the names and numbers of passengers shown on manifest match the assembled troops. Upon aircraft mission departures the Pax Shed Representative will ensure all paperwork is filed accordingly and accomplish all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Job Requirements:
High school or GED diploma (College / Formal transportation training is a plus). A basic knowledge of transportation functions, programs, regulations and guides based on training and experience in order to perform the cargo weighing/inspection duties. Knowledge of various classes of materials including those classified as Hazardous materials (e.g. flammable liquids and solids, corrosive, oxidizers, poisons, radioactive, etc.) in order to ensure proper packaging, marking, labeling, and placarding of materials with responsibility for complete and accurate shipping documentation. Ability to distinguish colors to visually observe hazardous material placards which are printed in colors such as red, yellow, orange, black, and white. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, methods and procedures in order to maintain and comply with standards and levels of safety and security which turn affects the loading of personnel and equipment. Skill in written and oral communication in order to compose and/or present information in required format. Ability to operate Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) for airfield operations. Ability to operate a motor vehicle in order to report to designated aircraft operations areas from administrative office work-site. Complete all other duties as assigned by section Leaders and Management. Must be able to work overtime. Must be able to go TDY locations.
