Our client, an established fabric textile design company in NYC is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team.
- Accountable for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
- Enhance the accuracy of the company’s report financial results and ensure that reported results comply with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Perform month-end closing and year-end closing and coordinate and assign duties to the accounting staff as needed.
- Evaluate departmental performance and adjust daily operations when needed to ensure the department meets overall goals and objectives.
- Provide training, guidance, and direction to employees to ensure work is performed in an efficient, timely, and knowledgeable manner.
- Prepare and provide financial statements, activity reports, revenue reports, analysis, and other reports on a scheduled or unprompted basis.
- Enter Vendor Bills into QuickBooks and share payable schedule weekly with owner.
- Pay vendor bills timely.
- Enter Customer Invoices into QuickBooks and share receivable schedule weekly with owner.
- Enter payments into QuickBooks and correctly apply to invoices.
- Prepare multiple state agency reports for tax purposes.
- Confer with upper management about budgeting and reviewing strategies to meet overall goals and objectives.
- Work closely with financial institutions concerning banking activity changes, enhancements and charges.
- Oversee financial analysis.
- Oversee A/P and A/R functions performed by Staff Accountant
- Perform monthly bank/cash reconciliation.
- Process biweekly payroll to ADP for processing.
- Reconcile payroll numbers to accounting system.
- Provide monthly cash flow reporting.
- Lead the Accounting Department staff and financial functions.
- Work in collaboration with executive leadership and participate in key decisions as a member of the management team.
- Responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies to drive the company to achieve and surpass revenue, profit, and cash flow goals and objectives, focusing on bottom‐line performance.
- Responsible for strategic financial decisions including new services, employee benefit plans, and investment opportunities.
- Implement appropriate internal controls and mechanisms to ensure the appropriate safeguarding of all assets and proper recording of transactions.
- Handle risk management including business insurance
- Oversee employee benefit plans.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, MBA preferred.
- Strong understanding of management and cost accounting principles.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the industrial supply industry.
- Be proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, and eventually QuickBooks Online
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and a quick learner with new software.
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 plus bonus. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
