Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems, grounds, turf grass, pavements, walkways. This is an entry level position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
· Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring; Reassemble and test equipment following repairs
· Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks and closets; installs window blinds
· Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
· Performs general maintenance on equipment
· Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures
· May perform exterior duties such as parking lot and/or mechanical repairs
· Cut and drill holes in floors, walls, and roof to install equipment, using power saws and drills
· Performs work outdoors and some tasks may be performed regardless of weather conditions
· May require working while exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust, tobacco smoke and foul odors
· Work is characterized by the necessity for considerable physical exertion, by close daily contact with unpleasant materials
· Operates lawn mowers, tractors, spreaders, fertilizers, aerators, and other motorized machinery
· Maintains, cleans and dresses the facility and grounds including building exteriors, outside structures and parkway areas
· Daily cleaning, maintaining and disposal of refuse in poker room, parking lot, grounds and kennel in front of grandstand
· Checks, maintains, operates, and repairs lure and track before, during and after official races and schooling races
· Minor electrical repairs; Change light bulbs, ballasts, fixtures, outlets, etc.
· Minor to intermediate construction, framing, demolition, drywall, painting, roof repairs, concrete, etc.
· Minor welding repairs
· Check, maintain, and water landscaping throughout the property
· Perform monthly inspection of fire extinguishers and emergency lights on property
· Clean and maintain office and Lure Maintenance Shack
· Must be trained as compound security officers to provide escorts to vendors in the kennel compound
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements:_ (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying_)
· High School diploma or GED required
· Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
· Must possess a valid state issued Driver’s License
· Must be able and willing to follow directions
· A minimum of 1 year of maintenance, grounds and/or construction experience is required
· Must be able to lift, bend, stoop and pull with materials up to 75lbs
· Must have a Florida FGCC Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
· Must possess a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctuality
· Willing to participate in training as recommended or required
· Must have reliable transportation to and from work
