The person in this role has a strong passion for network technologies. The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently in a highly fast-paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision. Comprehensive experience in troubleshooting complex network issues to determine root causes and handle escalated issues that network administrators cannot resolve. Responsible for the daily performance and availability of the organization's network. Ability to analyze network issues using tools such as packet captures and session flow tools. Unwavering determination to solve the problem or see the solution through to the end. Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays to support changes, rollouts, and outages. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintaining the network and troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth and efficient operations, minimizing downtime.
- Network Planning and Design: Developing and implementing strategies that align with business goals and upgrading the network infrastructure to meet organizational needs.
- Project Management: Leading and overseeing network-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Team Management and Training: Leading and mentoring network team members, and providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills.
- Vendor Management and Budgeting: Managing relationships with network hardware and software vendors, and overseeing the network budget, including cost estimation and cost control.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field required. Equivalent professional experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Cisco CCNA required.
- Cisco CCNP certification is preferred.
- Palo Alto or other security appliance certification is a plus.
- 5-7 years of IT experience with 4+ years managing development teams on multi-platform technical environments
- This position supervises network administrators and network engineers. Manages and directs 3 or more associates training, development, appraisal and work assignments.
- 2+ years of experience required managing large enterprise networks.
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience in LAN and WAN network implementation.
- Experience routing using BGP required.
- Prior Supervisory experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience managing and leading a group of Network Engineers and Administrators.
- Solid knowledge of network design and technologies, including:
- Cisco routers/switches, SD-WAN, BGP, VPN, firewalls, load balancer platforms.
- Ability to resolve routing issues using Route Maps, Prefix lists, and access lists.
- Wireless networking (Cisco/Meraki)
- Meraki, Cisco Nexus, Palo Alto, and F5 LTM experiences are plus.
- Good project management and organizational skills; good troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of Internet standards and technologies, including HTTP, e-Mail, DNS, Active Directory, SQL, and other applications.
- Good knowledge of data communications cabling.
- Must be familiar with software used to monitor network systems.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
