Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 -5:00
Starting Salary Range: $36.75-$44.00/hour
This is a professional nursing position involving the creation and direction of Adult Primary Care services. This position will lead adult primary care efforts while working in partnership with the clinical provider(s) and other members of the healthcare team including Behavioral Health and Dental. This nurse will plan, organize and direct activities related to adult primary care and assigned staff, with accountability for the supervisory, fiscal, and technical facets of the work. This position will provide direct patient care that focuses on improving health outcomes.
Illustrative Duties:

Perform routine patient assessments, including taking vital signs, completing a medical history, assessing condition, medication reconciliation, education, and identifying health needs.

Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider, monitor for side effects and reactions.

Answer and triage telephone calls from patients.

Participates in establishing overall goals and operational plans needed to meet the goals of the program, including staffing

Plans work assignments and supervises staff in adult primary care

Assess patient access needs (time of day, days of the week) and adjust clinic offerings accordingly

Establishes and implements work standards, policies, and procedures in conjunction with Medical Director and Nursing Directors

Monitors LabCorp and other vendor billing correspondence
Education and Experience: Requires graduation from a baccalaureate program in nursing and 3 years’ experience in a public health or primary care setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
License: Must have a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Must also have a current, valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of and skill in the application of nursing theory, practices, principles, and techniques employed in the field of public health and related programs; considerable knowledge of and skill in obtaining a health history and performing physical examinations sufficient enough to determine if there is any deviation from normal, bases on training and where applicable; considerable knowledge of current social and economic problems relating to healthcare; considerable knowledge of available resources and organizations.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise the work of others; ability to deal tactfully with others and to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions; ability to secure the cooperation of clients, to elicit needed information and to maintain effective working relationships; ability to record accurately services rendered and to interpret and explain records, reports and medical instructions. Needs to be extremely flexible. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Requires good decision-making skills.
