We are seeking skilled Low Voltage Technicians to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure in new commercial construction environments such as hospitals, data centers, airports, and retail facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, testing cables, and installing wireless access devices. Preferred qualifications include experience with low voltage systems, fiber splicing, and cable terminations. Candidates should maintain a professional appearance, have a positive attitude, and be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair cable infrastructure in new construction commercial settings.
- Perform maintenance on existing cabling systems and tenant improvement projects.
- Test newly installed or relocated cables to meet company specifications.
- Identify and remove redundant cabling.
- Install wireless access routers, patch panels, and internet technology devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues per company standards.
- Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and inner-duct.
- Repair cable terminations and runs.
- Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Complete paperwork, including timesheets and checklists.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience installing and troubleshooting low voltage systems; technical expertise is highly valued.
- Proficiency in fiber splicing and troubleshooting existing fiber plants.
- Experience installing overhead cable supports, J-hooks, and properly running cables to trays.
- Termination experience with Category 5, 5E, 6, 6a, fiber strands over 100, and copper.
- Ability to perform finish work such as installing faceplates and labeling end devices.
- Experience with anaerobic (2-part epoxy) terminations.
- Proficiency with Fluke OTDR and Fluke Power Meter.
- Experience with medium-level fiber network troubleshooting.
- Experience in new commercial construction, tenant improvements, and remodels.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.
Requirements:
- Experience with installations for structured cabling, security/access control, and other related cable systems for large commercial projects.
- Professional appearance and a positive, respectful attitude.
- Preferably at least one year of professional experience; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a company standard drug screen and background check.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Availability for 40+ hours per week.
