Microsoft is seeking a User Experience (UX) Architect with interaction and visual design skills with the experience to create and articulate design solutions by mapping a customer’s business problem to an extensible and usable information architecture.
In this role, you will work closely with customers, partners, and other Microsoft teams to drive success. This position involves a focus on pre-sales activities as well as project-level UX design oversight. This role requires the ability to engage in dialog with business and technology decision makers, a focus on the development of customer business agility and business value, and experience with User Experience design.

Define product design direction for your areas, and collaborate with partner design, research, product management, marketing and engineering teams around the company and globe, leveraging partnerships for perspective on our products.

Work through the ambiguity of new product definition, the application of new and emerging technologies and ensure the resulting experiences are human, beautifully crafted, and delightful to customers.

Lead by example with focused and inspiring work, designing through all phases of the product cycle. Conceptualize and design original ideas that bring simplicity and ease of use to complex design issues.

Provide thought leadership with the ability to compose polished design prototypes, vision vignettes, framing memos, creative briefs, and other communication artifacts to express inspiring product vision. Have foundational understanding of the Artificial Intelligence platform and models.

Scope and prioritize tasks and goals with partner teams and leverage a variety of design & productivity tools: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, or related.
Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
-
1+ year(s) experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.

3+ years of experience in facilitating design thinking processes and user research techniques.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Experience estimating, scoping, and writing statements of work that clearly set customer expectations.

Experience in leading customer workshops, uncovering opportunities, gathering requirements, and reviewing deliverables.

Experience in React, Figma, Sketch, Principle, Adobe Design Suite, and other design software environments.

Experience with design project oversight through the entire project lifecycle - including managing multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects to conclusion while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Experience in designing and prototyping user interfaces within technical constraints while leveraging and maximizing technical features.

Experience with all stages of product development - concept, wireframes, design iterations, production and quality assurance.

UX research experience conducting contextual research, design synthesis, concept testing, usability testing, and heuristic evaluation.

Experience in front end development.
Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,800 - $189,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,200 - $199,400 per year.
